Here for the Greater Huron Area Since 1917
Our local roots run deep. It all began more than a century ago with the 38-bed Norwalk Memorial Hospital on West Main Street. Today, our health system serves more than 70,000 residents across the area, offering a full continuum of care. That includes our 99-bed acute care hospital, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, a Home Health Center, emergency transport through North Central EMS and outpatient services, including lab work, imaging and physical rehabilitation.

Our Commitment to Local Care
Fisher-Titus Medical Center has remained at 272 Benedict Avenue for decades, but the care we deliver is always evolving.
By opening the $28.7 million Patient Pavilion in 2005 and the Fisher-Titus Willard Health Center in 2024, we’ve expanded strategically to meet the growing needs of our region. Our expert providers, advanced technology and patient-first facilities allow us to deliver the level of care you deserve, right here in Huron County.

Our History
Our story began in 1911 with the founding of the Norwalk Hospital Association. In 1916, local leaders came together to build a single, centralized hospital for the community. And thanks to $27,000 in community “subscriptions,” Norwalk Memorial Hospital opened its doors in June 1917 with 38 beds.
By 1926, local philanthropist Charlie Paul had funded a maternity wing. In 1939, the hospital was home to eight practicing physicians.
As our community grew, so did its need for healthcare. William and Lura Titus-Fisher stepped forward with a generous $1.25 million gift to help build a larger, more modern facility. In 1957, Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital opened at 272 Benedict Avenue. It was a symbol of progress marking the beginning of a new chapter in patient-centered care.
