Profile

Dr. Michael Powers is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years of experience delivering expert care in both surgical and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Since 2003, Dr. Powers has been a dedicated provider at NOMS Healthcare, serving patients throughout North Central Ohio with compassion, precision, and a commitment to optimal outcomes.

Dr. Powers specializes in total knee and hip replacements, as well as arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle. He is highly experienced in managing sports injuries, including labral tears, biceps tendon injuries, rotator cuff repairs, meniscal tears, and ACL reconstructions. His comprehensive care also includes return-to-sport evaluations, fracture treatment of upper and lower extremities, and nerve decompression surgeries such as Carpal, Guyon’s, and Cubital tunnel release.

In addition to surgical care, Dr. Powers provides management for osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis, including cortisone and viscosupplementation (e.g., Synvisc) injections. He also performs soft tissue mass excisions (such as ganglion cysts and lipomas) and hardware removal procedures.

Dr. Powers earned his undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and completed medical school at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and maintains licensure in the state of Ohio.

He holds staff privileges at several regional facilities, including Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Magruder Hospital, and The Surgery Center of North Central Ohio. Dr. Powers is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the Ohio Osteopathic Association.
