Fisher-Titus officials and guests “cut the ribbon” for a new medical office in New London during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 21. The new facility replaces the Fisher-Titus Family Medicine office at 187 West Main and also provides space for future medical services, according to Dr. Brent Burkey, president & CEO of Fisher-Titus.
“More than just a building, this 3,500 square-foot facility not only supports the work of our New London Family Medicine team,” said Dr. Burkey, “it continues our commitment to providing high quality health care in New London.”
Ground was broken for the facility, which is adjacent to the old office, last September. Patients were welcomed to the new office on Monday, Feb. 17.
During the five months of construction, Dr. Jeffrey Harwood and Nurse Practitioner Haley Robuck continued to see patients at the old office which will now be razed to provide additional parking.
“We appreciate the great work of the Janotta & Herner team in limiting disruptions to our patients while construction was going on right next door,” said Dr. Harwood.
J&H President & CEO Mark Chase, a New London resident, said “We greatly appreciate our long-term relationship with Fisher-Titus, and we are honored to be part of a project that will enhance medical benefits for New London area residents.”
Dr. Harwood has been serving New London patients since 1989 when he opened New London Family Practice and affiliated with Fisher-Titus Medical Center. In 2015 the practice became part of Fisher-Titus Medical Care, a multispecialty group of health-care providers employed by Fisher-Titus. New London native Haley Robuck joined the practice as a nurse practitioner in 2017. Dr. The team provides a complete range of medical care for patients of all ages, and offer convenient office hours.
“Haley and I, and our entire care team are pleased to be continuing our long history of providing medical services in New London,” said Dr. Harwood. “We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing care to the generations of families we have known for decades, as well as being involved in and supporting community activities. Our entire staff is excited to be able to serve our patients in this new facility.”
The new building features two medical office suites with each suite having a private entrance with reception areas. The medical building will have a total of eight patient exam rooms, two nurse stations and work areas, and office space for physicians and other providers. Fisher-Titus Family Medicine now occupies one suite, with the second reserved for future health-related services for the community, such as additional providers or specialty clinics.
“We also appreciate the assistance we have received from the New London Village Administration officials in bringing this project to fruition,” said Dr. Burkey. “They have been extremely helpful.”
