Starting July 1, Fisher-Titus will offer walk-in breast cancer screening mammograms. With busy schedules in mind, walk-in mammograms make it easier for women to get their annual mammograms with no appointment necessary.
Walk-in mammograms will be offered Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday from 7-11 a.m. The walk-in service is available for women 40 and over with no breast issues.
Having an annual mammogram is an important part of women’s breast health and detecting breast cancer. When detected early, breast cancer is 99-100 percent curable within five years of diagnosis. Fisher-Titus offers 3-D mammography - the most detailed breast tissue imaging available. Three-dimensional images are able to detect up to 40 percent more cancers earlier than 2-D scans. Fisher-Titus also offers curved paddles for patient comfort.
Walk-in Mammograms are offered in the Fisher-Titus Imaging Services Department on the Fisher-Titus campus at 272 Benedict Ave. in Norwalk. When you arrive, enter through the Emergency Department and register with the Outpatient & Emergency Registration Desk. For more information about walk-in mammography, call 419-668-8101 ext. 6205 or visit fishertitus.org/breast-health. Check with your insurance provider to determine coverage for annual exams.
