Dr. Bassel Al-Alao, a cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined Fisher-Titus, according to Dr. Brent Burkey, president & CEO of Fisher-Titus.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Al-Alao,” said Dr. Burkey. “The addition of a cardiothoracic surgeon elevates the level of care we are able to provide to the community at the Snyder/White Heart & Vascular Center.”
A graduate of Damascus University, Dr. Al-Alao completed fellowships in general thoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN; cardiac surgery at Emory University Hospital Atlanta; and as senior registrar of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Oxford University’s John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK.
Dr. Al-Alao is seeing patients in the Snyder/White Heart & Vascular Center. He specializes in thoracic oncology, minimally invasive lung cancer surgery, and minimally invasive adult cardiac surgery.
“The knowledge and experience he brings allows us to continue to look at ways we can expand the services offered at the Heart & Vascular Center,” said Dr. Burkey. “By increasing the level of care we offer to our patients, they can stay close to home for exceptional care instead of being referred to another facility.”
Dr. Al-Alao is a member of The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery of Great Britain & Ireland, European Society of Thoracic Surgery, European Society for Medical Oncology, European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Syrian, Irish, British, and American Medical Associations, and Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Dr. Al-Alao is currently accepting new patients.
