18th Annual Mammography Quilt Raffle Now in Progress

QuiltThe Mammography Quilt Raffle, organized by Fisher-Titus Volunteer Pat Scheid of Monroeville, is in its 18th year and will benefit the Fisher-Titus Mammography Fund, which provides mammograms to area women who otherwise might not have access to this life-saving screening.

This year’s hand-quilted, queen-size “Ruth’s Crimson Dahlia” is 88” x 102”and was quilted in honor of Ruth Reed, who like Scheid is a cancer survivor and fellow quilter. Scheid and her fellow quilters Ruth Reed, Kim Clark, Mary Dittmer, Evelyn Ruffing and Joan Ullman put in 248 hours to craft this beautiful quilt. This year’s Mammography Quilt also was recently named “Best of Show” in the Open Class Division at the Huron County Fair.

Tickets are a $1 donation each or six tickets for a $5 donation. Drawing is Tuesday, Oct. 30. Winner need not be present. Two additional prizes will be awarded.

Tickets will be available for this award-winning quilt at various business throughout Huron County, including Fisher-Titus Medical Center’s Benedict Avenue and Patient Pavilion Information Desks; Beauty Vault in Monroeville; both locations of Sheri’s Coffee House in Norwalk; and When Pigs Fly in Norwalk.

For more information, call Pat Scheid at 419-465-2683.
