Putting Your Health & Safety First: Golf Tournament Safety Plan

The novel coronavirus has changed much of how we work, play, and interact. We believe that it is possible to both protect each other from COVID-19 and to continue with facets of life and business that are low to moderate risk.

Golfing is considered a moderate risk activity that can be enjoyed safely with proper precautions. In order to protect golf tournament attendees, Fisher-Titus has adopted the Responsible Restart Ohio Guidelines for the tournament and will follow Governor DeWine’s orders for the event. Additionally, event organizers have been in consultation with Huron County Public Health for guidance.

Safety measures in place for the tournament include:

  • Teams will have scheduled tee times instead of a shotgun start to help with physical distancing.
  • Participants must be free of fever and other COVID-19 related symptoms. Participants’ temperatures will be checked upon arrival.
  • Maintaining 6 feet of physical distance between participants whenever possible.
  • When physical distancing is not possible, masks will be required.
  • Only one foursome per tee/hole.
  • It is recommended that participants share a cart with a coworker or family member rather than someone they are not already in frequent contact with.
  • Washing/sanitizing hands often as well as before and after meals and common touch points. Sanitizer will be provided in each golf cart to allow for proper hand hygiene.
