This non-invasive, painless approach to liver health management aids physicians in diagnosing liver diseases such as Hepatitis C and fatty liver disease.
A healthy liver is soft, and a liver with fibrosis scar tissue is more firm. A liver with cirrhosis due to Hepatitis C or steatosis is very hard and stiff. The 10-minute FibroScan 502 Touch procedure painlessly measures the elasticity of the liver’s tissue.
How It Works
A specially designed probe is pressed against the patient’s right rib cage in multiple areas. The probe emits a pulse of energy that measures the elasticity of the liver’s tissue.
