Entry into healthcare - entry into Fisher-Titus
State Tested Nurse Aides (STNA) are key members of the care team. STNAs perform a number of patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN).
- Help patients with activities of daily living such as dining, dressing, bathing, and using the restroom
- Works closely with the rehabilitation team
- Transports residents within the facility
- May assist the licensed nurse with taking and recording vital signs
Entering the healthcare field
For some, the STNA position serves as a launching pad for entering the healthcare universe. Many of these individuals go on to become home health aides, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, or physicians. Others may take their STNA experience into areas of healthcare including therapies, radiology, and administration.
However, many individuals who become STNAs find they love being such an important part of a resident’s life and choose to continue in that role.
Free training program - apply today!
Our free training program in partnership with Be Strong Learning Center provides the STNA candidate with all the educational tools needed to successfully complete the state testing requirements. Successful candidates accepted into this free training program includes tuition, fees, books, state testing, CPR, and First Aid.
In addition, select students may be chosen to work as Hospitality Aides while
completing the program. The Hospitality Aide duties are a perfect, hands-on,
compliment to the STNA course—and you get paid to do it! For students who
are selected to work as Hospitality Aides, their schedule will be arranged to allow plenty of time for both school and study.
Additionally, upon completion of the class, you will be hired into Norwalk Memorial Home and Transitional Care Unit at Fisher-Titus as an STNA!
